WELCOME. Browncoat Big Damn Fan Films, Inc. is a remarkably different type of non-profit organization. The Browncoat Big Damn Fan Films’ mission is to "increase the awareness of non-profit charities through fan made films”. Bringing a unique combination of independent filmmaking and grassroots fundraising, our focus is creative, thoughtful, and inspiring. Offering much more than a basic non-profit fundraising experience, our unique and effective approach is a refreshing change from traditional filmmaking and fund raising. Michael Dougherty, Co-Founder
Michael has previous experience as owner of two businesses and Vice President of Marketing. He has worked in the interactive media and entertainment industry for the last 10 years. He has relationships with various fan conventions and vendors to assist with long-term promotional efforts.
Heather Fagan, Co-Founder
Heather has extensive legal and accounting experience along with production management and casting experience with stage and screen.
Steven Fisher, Co-Founder
Steve has previous experience as an owner of three businesses and functioned in various marketing and technology roles. Steve has relationships with film and industry groups in addition to large companies interested in long-term sponsorship roles.

We create independent films based in existing sci-fi universes that have strong fan support and related charities.
In addition to accepting charitable donations to fund our current project(s), we disburse funds to other 501(c)(3) organizations that complement our mission, such as the charities started and/or supported by cast and crew members of the original movie/TV properties that made that respective universe popular.
The Background of Browncoat Big Damn Fan Films, Inc. is that it is an all-volunteer grassroots organization, created for charitable purposes. A group of fans of the television and film series "Firefly" and "Serenity" formed the organization around the principle that the energy and talents of members of the fandom could be channeled into giving back to the community. Browncoat Big Damn Fan Films was organized to support other 501(c)(3) charities by creating, and promoting, fan made films as a source of fundraising and advocacy for the chosen supported charities.
